Wanted to try this spot after seeing it from GrubwithMike. Especially since I grew up in San Leandro I was surprised I haven't tried this spot yet. I got the salt & pepper prawns, salt & pepper wings,Mongolian beef and Mongolian black bean beef chow fun. Everything was good, the salt and pepper shrimp was so crispy and the beef was flavorful. I will definitely go back to try more items in the menu. It is a to go place so you can just call them and place an order.

Little Namking is a to-go location only so try to park closer if possible - but parking might be tricky as it's street parking and a small private lot behind. The restaurant itself is super small, so there's about 2-3 seats inside and if it's busy you will need to wait outside. When people say the salt and pepper prawns are where it's at, they really mean it. My fiance bought it home for me once and I didn't get to eat it until 3 hours later and it was still crispy and delicious. Another time we went, we order and waited about 15-20 minutes (so you know they are cooking it on the spot) and got the prawns, sweet and sour chicken, black beans green beans, and the combo chow mien. The food was just so good and crispy as it should be for a take-out only location. The portions are good for the price and the noodle had a good amount of seafood/meat. Also, if you like your spice - remember to ask for the chili sauce. It is sooo good to add to anything and adds a good kick to the dish you are eating!

I heard the hype about Little Namking's fried chicken so of courseeee I had to check it out! LOCATION: Located on E. 14th so you can't miss it if you keep going down that main street. It is a small shop and there's street parking in front and around the block. They also have a small parking lot behind it. AMBIANCE: Like I said, small shop - it's take out only. They've got a menu outside posted on their window and more menus inside. You'll place your order once inside and then they give you a buzzer that will let you know when your order is ready. They have a few chairs inside if you want to wait there, but you can also wait just outside. I believe you can also call ahead to place an order for pick up. Now, let's get to the FOOD: we ordered their signature salt and pepper chicken wings and salt and pepper prawns. oooh that is salty and peppery goodness. For the salt and pepper chicken wings, they're pretty decent in size and they're crispy without being too *crunchy*. The seasoning is pretty good - I think I was getting some white pepper in there which was good. Is it the best salt and pepper chicken wings I've had? Maybe not, but it's pretty up there! The shrimp was very similar. Decent portions and perfectly fried. Honestly, I will probably be back here again. If I lived more in this area, it would prob be my regular chinese takeout spot!

I was looking for a new Chinese restaurant and tried this one out with my husband. I'm so happy we did. It's such a classic Chinese spot with some of my faves, including delicious salt and pepper fish. We enjoyed all the dishes we tried and will happily order from here again We had: - crab puffs - potstickers - beef chow mein - salt and pepper fish - general chicken

Little Namking is a to-go Chinese restaurant. This place is always busy and their phone lines half of the time doesn't go through. There is no seating and only pick option is available. The fried dishes here are SO good! I recommend the honey walnut shrimp, salt & pepper wings and szechuan beef. The honey walnut shrimp is delicious. It's crispy, sweet and savory all at the same time. The salt & pepper wings are the BEST here. It's always my to go to order. They are SO CRISPY! This a great place to grab to-go Chinese food and super affordable!

I've lived in San Leandro for over a year and only just recently decided to stop by Little NamKing. I arrived about five minutes before they opened for the evening at 4 PM, and all the street parking in front was taken by people waiting in their cars waiting for LN to open. I rounded the corner and found parking in a little lot behind the store. I didn't necessarily see any signs saying it was employee only parking, but I also wasn't looking really hard... They opened promptly at 4 PM and it's basically a takeout operation. There are a handful of chairs in the small front area and one lady at the front taking orders by hand, calculating totals on a calculator, and handing out orange tickets with your order number on it. I heard someone in line grumbling about them not answering the phone when he was trying to place an order, but after being inside, I kinda get it. They see a steady flow of customers and the lady at the front was no nonsense and totally dialed in to doing a million things at once. That said, I was the second person in line, ordered salt and pepper wings, salt and pepper shrimp, and beef chow mein, and was told it would take 10 minutes. I stood outside and, sure enough, in about 10 minutes, a guy called my number. When I went back inside, I handed him my orange ticket and he asked if I needed utensils and sauce. When I got home, I saw that they took the time to cut out a portion of the lids on the salt and pepper items, ensuring that there could be air flow and that the items wouldn't be soggy. As a customer, I truly appreciate that step. While the wings get a lot of praise, my favorite item was the shrimp. They have the perfect crunch while still having a pretty light, flavorful coating. Don't get me wrong though, the wings are solid in their own right. The only item I wouldn't get again is the chow mein. The noodles have a good texture, and it's a generous portion, but it's so bland. My husband said he could doctor it up by frying it a bit more with soy sauce and oyster sauce, but why go through the extra work? I think we'd just order more prawns and then make steamed rice at home. All in all, a great first trip and I look forward to going back. I was surprised when I placed the order that it seemed like you could either do a full order of the salt and pepper items or get them over rice. It's surprising because that's usually a lunchtime style order. In any case, it's a great option and if I'm lazy about cooking rice, I'd totally opt for that.
